Sculpture by the River – Monday 5th of October

The Northshore Sculpture by the River Exhibition is back and better than ever! This week long exhibition will showcase exquisite pieces from some of Queensland’s most renowned sculptors. This exhibition aims to reflect the past and present use of the River, especially the River’s rich Aboriginal history. 

The Brisbane River and Hamilton Northshore provide an impressive backdrop for the exhibition. Bring the family or fly solo as you meander through the brilliant shoreline sculptures. On top of this, smaller pieces can be viewed in the adjacent Shed at 257 MacArthur Ave Hamilton. Not only can attendees view the sculptures, but this festival will also feature artist presentations of their sculptures and artist-led tours of the exhibition. Click here for more info

For one weekend only, a reimagined music and lifestyle festival experience is dropping in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley – REMIX HOTEL – brought to you by Ovolo The Valley and XR events. From Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October, check-in for a transformative festival weekend full of poolside sunset sessions, boozy interactive bars, and late night discos in your very own retro-esque suite. Sign us up baby!

The tunes will be pumping all weekend long from the whimsical Golden Lounge, up into your luxurious private suite, and out into the VIP Poolside Sunset Sessions. Down the REMIX HOTEL rabbit hole, guests will experience a weekend of exclusive international DJ sets broadcasted live from Groove Armada in London, the father of house music Marshall Jefferson in Manchester and Jason Bye in Ibiza, as well as local artists; including Rachel May, Groove Terminator, Mark James and many more.

Vintopia, The ‘O’ Factor – Friday 9th, October

Enjoy a glass of Nebbiolo, Fiano, Montepulciano, Tempranillo and of course, Prosecco!

Vintopia, The ‘O’ Factor is a blissfully unique and social way of Friday afternoon ‘wining’. From 5-7pm, guests can take a seat at one of the preset tables and let the wine tasting guru come to you! Attendees will sample the 9 chosen wines of the evening and receive a full glass for free. All wines presented are available to purchase by the glass and bottle at the bar along with Cloudland’s signature cheese and Italian meats boards.

All the good ones end in ‘O’! This edition of Vintopia explores some of the more complex and exotic grape varieties that originate from the romantic Italian and Spanish countrysides and even some Australian staples. And you guessed it, they end with the letter ‘O’. Nebbiolo, Fiano, Montepulciano, Tempranillo and of course, Prosecco!

Tickets are going for just $20pp, which covers your entry fee, tastings of all 9 wines plus a full glass of your favourite! Small and large Vintopia cheese and Italian meats boards are also available to purchase at the Eventbrite checkout.

While your chances are pretty slim of heading over to Munich this year to celebrate Oktoberfest, The Osbourne Hotel is bringing you the next best thing, OstoberFest! From 11:30am you can grab yourself a stein and a schnitty in The Osbourne Biergarten. Guests will be treated to Traditional Oktoberfest music, German bier steins and will be serving up all the classics; Veal Schnitzels, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, pretzels – you name it! Brisbane Backyard Film Festival 2020 – Saturday 10th, October

The Brisbane Backyard Film Festival is a celebration of local screen content. This annual event showcases some of the best short films, music videos and movie trailers from around Queensland. The silver screen will be rolling from 5pm-10pm on the fairy-lit, grassy knolls of the West End Croquet Club. So bring your rug, grab a beer, fill-up on the delicious food from local food trucks and settle in for a night of backyard entertainment under the stars.
