Sunday, September 13th
$3 Bao Festival at Bao Bar

If the name Bao Bar doesn’t tantalise your tastebuds enough, then just imagine a warm fluffy cloud filled with a fusion of your favourite tender meats and asian spices. And for only $3 per serve?! Now we’re talking!
To celebrate the official opening of Brisbane’s hottest new location, Bao Bar invites you to an all-day beers and bao festival. Enjoy a mouth watering plate of soy dashi braised pork belly bao, crispy panko chicken bao or even grab yourself a serving of their legendary edamame chips with gyoza dip.
If you don’t have time to pull up a chair then pop in and grab some buns on the run from their takeaway window. With plenty of surrounding parking this event is an absolute no brainer for your Sunday session location.
No bookings will be necessary- just turn up when suits you, however due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, there is a maximum seating of 30 guests at any time.
Bottomless Brunch at Ling Lings

Brisbane’s Biggest Boozy Brunch and Sunday Party has arrived at Ling Lings! Put on your dancing shoes, grab your gang, and head in for either a 9-course Dim Sum Package or an 8-Course vegan option and two hours of bottomless Tiger Beer, House Prosecco, Rose, Aperol Spritz, or Mimosas
The ticketed event runs just $45pp and invites guests to enjoy Jive, back-to-back disco, house, and party DJ’s all night long, with a sprinkling of live instrumental artists to keep the party going.
Doors will open at 2pm exclusively for Dim Sum Disco guests to enjoy their exclusive evening before opening their doors at 4:30pm, when the Dim Sum package concludes, for the rest of Brisbane to get the party started!

Blooms and Tunes at Roma Street Parklands

Spring has finally sprung in Brisbane and to celebrate the change of season the Roma Street Parklands will play host to Blooms and Tunes. This event will be taking place every weekend in September from 1pm – 4pm. Listen to the warming sounds of jazz and blues, tuck into a picnic, and stroll through a sea of 15,000 colourful florals in the Spectacle Garden’s spring display.
Guests are invited to indulge in specially curated picnic hampers from the Parkland’s grazing ground. Expect a mouth-watering charcuterie platter with a side of home-made dips, farmhouse cheeses and your favourite tipple of choice. If you are wanting something a little more lavish, upgrade your purchase to an exclusively styled VIP picnic space, complete with envious stage views and premium service. However, if creating your own garden party is what you are truly after, BYO spreads, picnic rugs and puppies are encouraged. This event has something for everyone!
Tunes-wise, the lineup includes Andrea Kirwin and the Yamanui Social Club, Ingrid James Ensemble, Cigany Weaver, CC the Cat, Soulergy, Blues Arcadia and Mzaza, with a different artist playing each session.

Brisbane Vegan Markets

This bi-monthly affair, held under the shady foliage on the corner of West End’s Russell and Boundary street, is the answer to your vegan prayers!
Created to support local vegan traders, producers and charities, this market is the perfect place to get your hands on your favourite cruelty-free products. Enjoy live acoustic music and sip on a soy latte while you take a stroll past the various vegan vendors including stone oven pizzas, acai bowls and delicious doughnuts. You can fill your reusable market totes with raw treats, fresh fruit and drinks as well as vegan-friendly cosmetics, clothing and homewares. This event is dog-friendly so don’t leave your four-legged friends behind!

Sunsuper Night Sky Laser Show

For millennia, people have looked to the night sky for solace, inspiration, meaning and guidance. SunSuper Night Sky heralds the beginning of a new era, a time to come back together and make a connection.
Come and celebrate BrisFest 2020 as our city-scape becomes a canvas for a laser and light installation. Every Friday and Saturday night of the Festival, buildings across Brisbane’s skyline will play host to an interconnecting and pulsing laser beam installation set to an ethereal soundtrack.
Created by Australia’s most renowned audio-visual artist, Robin Fox, this exquisite light installation will be visible for miles from hundreds of vantage points across Brisbane. You can be a part of these magical evenings from the street, on your evening stroll, or even from the comfort of your seat on the CityCat.

Saturday, September 19th
Brisbane Gin Festival Launch

Brisbane’s thirst-quenching celebration of juniper spirits is back and better than ever! The 2020 Brisbane Gin Festival will be popping bottles from 12pm on Saturday, September 19th. With a plethora of gin stalls serving up tastings from midday and Welcome To Bowen Hills main bar slinging multiple varieties of the drink in question (over 60 gins on offer!), this festival is your one-stop gin shop!
If you’re a fan of Four Pillars, Brookies, Tanqueray, Manly Spirits Co, Larrikin, 23rd Street, Press n Bloom, Lacey Hill, Husk, Brisbane Gin, Wolf Lane, Adelaide Hills and the rest of the family then you don’t want your tastebuds to miss out.
Gin gurus can expect: inventive takes on the timeless G&T, a variety of ingenious gin cocktails infused with the freshest botanicals that Brisbane can offer, and an abundance of food stalls to tantalise your tastebuds. Don’t forget to bring your four legged friends as this event is dog friendly!
The day will be split up into three sessions, with two requiring paid tickets. All you need to do is pay a small fee of $15, and you can choose between the event’s 12–3pm and 4–7pm timeslots, with tickets on sale now. If you are planning on drinking into the later hours of the evening, the 7:30pm session will have no entry fee; however capacity is limited to 250 people.

OktoberFest by Sea Legs Brewing Co.

Grab yourself a stein, a schnitty, and your sociable bunch of friends this weekend at Sea Legs Brewing Co’s OktoberFest. Kangaroo Point’s first craft brewery opens it’s warehouse doors to the public this weekend to enjoy chilled premise-made brews (as well as some sensational limited release beers) and tuck into some good ‘ol German inspired pub-grub.
Sea Legs’ OktoberFest will be kicking off from Saturday the 19th and continuing every day until Sunday the 27th of September. Situated under the iconic Story Bridge, and only a stone’s throw away from Captain Burke Park, this family and pet-friendly event is the perfect way to travel across the globe without having to leave the city! So go on, put on your favourite lederhosen or dirndl and get a pretzel under your palate.
There is plenty of on street metered parking available, with it being free on weekends (score!) and easy access from the Holman St Ferry terminal. Bookings are essential, so get in quick!

Brisbane’s Biggest Clothing Garage Sale

Brisbane’s biggest (and best) clothing garage sale is back baby! After a minor hiatus this year during lockdown, Lil J’s Vintage proudly presents it’s 2020 edition of the hottest vintage garage sale. Whether you are a streetwear lover or a recycled fashion enthusiast, this event guarantees that every guest will score a bargain (or two!)
Take a stroll through Paddington’s very own depop and treat yourself to the best vintage and one-off clothing that Brisbane has to offer. You can find pre-loved, recycled, and upcycled goods from brands such as Ralph Lauren, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, The North Face, Champion, Burberry, Wrangler and plenty more!
Not only does this savvy street sale home the largest vintage clothing collection, but guests can rummage through records, sneakers, books, jewellery, and even household ferns and succulents.
Prices will vary depending on stallholders and items will range anywhere from $1 – $100+ depending on brand, quality, and rareness. Grab some pals, grab some cash and get down to Bizzell’s Garage from 10am – 3pm.
