HASHTAG BURGERS AND WAFFLES – Fortitude Valley & West End
Recently crowned Queensland’s best burgers by LITT, the team at Hashtag Burgers and Waffles are more than just your run-of-the-mill burger joint. They offer a unique style of dining with amazing food right in the heart of the Valley.
We recommend that you order yourself their absolutely stacked Double Down burger, two moist beef patties, two cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, onion, smokey bacon, smothered in tomato relish and blue cheese sauce!
For those that are brave enough, however, we suggest that you give their 20-minute burger challenge a whirl. Eat your way through a devilish 1.3kg burger, 500g of fries, and a delicious brownie shake in under 20 minutes and you get your $45 back as well as the sheer pride of knowing that you beat the beast!
BROKEN HEARTS BURGER CLUB – Various Locations
Broken Hearts specialise in the smashed patty. Starting out as a couple of mates and a pop-up here and there, Broken Hearts got their start with an OG store in Morningside.
Now well and truly beginning their domination with four stores and counting across Brisbane, don’t let their simple menu fool you. They may only have 2 burgers actually on the menu, but try them and you’ll be a convert.
SUE’S BURGERS & SHAKES – Carindale
You’ll find Sue’s smack bang in Carindale Shopping Centre. Get rid of those foodcourt notions though because Sue’s make some truly epic burgers far from their fast-food counterparts.
Their restaurant is reminiscent of a 50’s diner, with pops of neon red and cool signage scattered throughout. Pair one of their burgers with a Reese’s Peanut Butter or Salted Caramilk milkshake for a really good time.

BENZ ON MILLER – Murarrie
Tucked behind the Murarrie corporate area is where you will find this absolute gem of a burger bar. The team at Benz know how to do burgers so well that they even received the 1st place award for Best Burger of Brisbane 2020 – need we say more?

You can find this delicious den along Oxford Street adjacent to the Bulimba Memorial Park, the perfect location to chow down on a beefy burger.
BREWSKI – Petrie Terrace
It isn’t all about the hops at Caxton Street’s favourite watering hole, Brewski. Carnivores and plant-based eaters alike will be in foodie heaven with their 12 succulent burger options. We recommend the Pulled Pork Deluxe Burger with smoked pulled pork, cheddar, slaw, beer-candied bacon, pickles, and bbq sauce. Swap out the pork for their pulled jackfruit option with facon and a maple toasted bun for a plant-based feed. When you try the Brewski menu you’ll be wondering why they didn’t call themselves ‘chewski.’

Gaming geeks will recognise the nod to iconic 80’s game, Street Fighter, throughout the Super Combo menu. Combining a love of burgers and iconic arcade games, Super Combo has eight premium burger creations to choose from, along with a range of super tasty side-kicks including spicy chicken poppers, loaded fries with maple-candied bacon and deliciously thick shakes. We recommend the Sonic Boom burger, fried chicken, mushroom sauce, cheddar cheese sauce, candied bacon, pineapple chutney and slaw topped off with some hella creamy aioli. It’s safe to say that Super Combo has hit the high score with this one!

This place is capable of winning the hearts of even the most patriotic Yankees.
BEN’S BURGERS – Fortitude Valley
Shaved meat grilled in flatbread is not a burger. Raw fish on rice is not a burger. Fermented grape juice in a box is not a burger. If you can’t tell where I’m going with this, check out Ben’s Burgers. They teach one lesson and the lesson is this: a burger is a beef patty with sauce, cheese and potentially crunchy accoutrements between a fluffy sesame seed bun. Don’t get it confused. Our pick? The Cheezy: a beef pattie, American cheese, pickles, onion and their special sauce.
BROOKLYN DEPOT – Southbank, Fortitude Valley, Stones Corner

The game is in the name at Brooklyn Depot because these guys are your one-stop-shop for all of America’s best food flavours! And if that wasn’t enough to get your taste buds tingling, sink your teeth into their Down Town burger, double smashed Angus beef patties, double American cheese, smoked hickory bacon, rich bbq sauce, and cheese and gravy fries. Be sure to sink a schooner while you make your way through their sensational menu.

This CBD-based burger joint is the perfect place to satisfy your long workday burger urges!
RED HOOK – Brisbane CBD

It’s safe to say that there is nothing quite like the taste of New York City’s street-food, with its juicy flavours and rich textures. Which is why the team at Red Hook have stopped at nothing to bring these succulent flavours down under. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to order yourself the Uptown Funk burger, beef or crumbed chicken patty, gooey cheese, gorgonzola sauce, caramelised onions, bacon, and buffalo ketchup.
