Tropical paradise has arrived at this Valley bar (and in the most unique way)

X Cargo Pool Club

Forget about spending the rest of the summer driving to the coast, X Cargo’s new shipping container swimming pool has brought tropical paradise to you and you have six more weeks to check it out.

Not only do we now have the luxury of being poolside in the middle of a city bar, you and your mates can hire out a poolside cabana and spend the day sipping on Cîroc Mojito’s or snatch up a day bed as you enjoy an occasional dip in the 40ft shipping container swimming pool.

The two-month-long collaboration between X Cargo and Cîroc Vodka saw the popular Valley bar transform ‘Eat’s Alley’ into the ideal summer playground on January 1 and guests will have until the end of February to soak up the experience.

Entry to the Pool Club will give you access to the bar, change rooms and toilets but to really maximise the opportunity you can book out a cabana with packages starting at $500 for eight people. Cabana packages include Cîroc bottle service and your very own private waiter or waitress servicing your booth for your three-hour time slot. Could poolside paradise get any closer? We doubt it. Alternatively, daybeds are available for walk in use, but don’t forget your towel!

And just when you thought it couldn’t get better – if you want the entire place to yourself, the Pool Club is also available for private hire. This ‘Baller Package’ includes five bottles of your choice of spirits, five bottles of champagne, five mini grazing plates and access to the DJ booth, on top of the usual inclusions, for four hours. I mean, come on, could this get any more enticing?

With a maximum capacity of 65 people, you can feel free to open this invite up to your whole group!

X Cargo Pool Club

X Cargo owner Leah Cattanach said the idea had been on their radar for some time and they were excited to unveil the Pool Club for 2020.

“We were lucky that Shipping Container Pools, who were conveniently located at the Sunshine Coast, collaborated with us to design the ultimate 40ft container pool for X Cargo,” Leah said.

Leah said the initiative had been well received so far and they aim to bring it back in summers to come.

“The shipping container pool was one of a few ideas we will be trialing in 2020,” she said.

“We’re also looking forward to hopefully popping up at a few events hopefully down South too.”

The Pool Club is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am-8pm and bookings are essential. Book now by emailing poolclub@xcargo.com.au.
