From drumbeats to aerial feats, guitar licks to high kicks: The Tivoli has declared Open Season on live music and entertainment in Brisbane this summer! From November 2020 to February 2021, The Tivoli will breathe life back into the Brisbane’s performing arts scene with a specially curated series of concerts and live performance events.

The team at the Tivoli has carefully selected a list of artists and companies including Cub Sport, Beddy Rays, Custard, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, to person across this three month celebration of entertainment. On top of this, Open Season will feature an extended season of Bite Club, a jaw-dropping cabaret performance as well as Le Coup, a daring circus and physical theatre piece.

The Tivoli Creative Director Dave Sleswick explains that, “Brisbane is one of the few major Australian cities that can safely reopen cultural venues, and as an iconic live music venue, The Tivoli feels a profound responsibility to bring music, performance and the arts back to the city.”
After the industry went on a COVID-induced hiatus back in March, the team at the Tivoli decided that they needed to diversify their experience and as as a result, have partnered with City Winery to deliver guests seasonal menus, premium drinks and sophisticated bar food, made fresh on-site for the ultimate Open Season experience.

One of the distinguishing new features of the Open Season program is the development of a premium dinner and show experience (for Bite Club and Le Coup) that is reminiscent of famous underground cabaret theatres throughout Europe. “It will be an utterly unique experience for Brisbane, blending art and entertainment with incredible food and wine,” Sleswick adds.

Open Season will start with a bang on the 5th of November with acts from Cub Sport, Jaguar Jonze and Wedance, First Beige supported by FELIVAND, Beddy Rays, Megan Washington and Electric Fields. This fusion of entertainment then morphs into its new dinner-and-show configuration for the two-week season of Le Coup and Bite Club. The Brisbane Immersive Ensemble will deliver a 1920’s spectacular New Year’s takeover, with a 4-hour beverage package and 2-hour food offering to ring in the new year.

The Open Season party will continue with two concerts from the band Custard followed by a second-round announcement of Open Season headline acts, live-streamed gigs, First Nations artists and open-air Sunday sessions.

Member pre-sale tickets are available from 9am Friday the 25th September with all Open Season performances are on sale to the general public from 10am Monday the 28th September and you can get your tickets here!
