Scenic Rim Brewery: Grain to Glass Farmhouse Feast

With no Ekka being held this year, producers from the Scenic Rim are offering an alternative, encouraging people from the city to visit the country. Thankfully, the Scenic Rim Brewery are offering their thirst-quenching craft beers to satisfy our palates. Nothing beats a cold beer on a winter’s day, am I right? Each beer hosts its own flavoursome character, harnessing the true larrikin nature of us Aussies. Each beer has been handcrafted in their 130-year-old heritage listed building, and the brewery aims to reduce their environmental impact by promoting sustainable practices.

When: Wednesday, August 12, 12pm. 
Where: Scenic Rim Brewery, 898 Reckumpilla Street, Mount Alford.

Towri Sheep Cheeses High Tea

Nothing says high tea better than sparkling wine, pots of tea, tiered trays of scones, and most of all, delicious Towri Sheep Cheese! Bring your family and friends along for a blissful traditional high tea experience nestled amongst their gardens with a breathtaking view of their sheep property. If this event couldn’t get any more delicious, Signature Emporium’s Executive Pastry Chef, Alex Liddle will be whipping up a storm and leaving us all wanting more. With adorable lambs ready for some cuddles and pastries baked to be enjoyed, book your tickets now before they sell out! 

When: Wednesday, August 12, 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Show Day on Tommerup’s Farm

Although they’re missing the Ekka this year, Tommerup’s Dairy Farm has plenty on offer this August, so wherever you are, jump in the car and head on over to the countryside! With a range of fun and educational activities on offer, there’s so much to do on this sixth generational dairy farm. There’ll be animal feeding, a smashing pumpkin pig feeding tours, a selection of delectable ice cream on offer and many more. So, if you’re a fan of farm animals or just want an excuse to escape the city, Tommerup’s is the place for you! 

When: Sunday, August 9, 10:30am – 2:30pm.
Where: Tommerup’s Dairy Farm, 2142 Kerry Road, Kerry.

Summer Land Camels

Yep, you heard it right – camels! Who knew there was a camel farm so close to home? This hidden gem is Australia’s largest commercial camel Dairy that produces sustainable and ethical camel milk and wellness products. With a skincare selection of hair products, body wash, and other goodies, this handcrafted range are the perfect superfood for your skin. Not only is Summer Land Camels home to some adorable furry friends available for visitors to ride, but there’s also a café on site.

Now, if you think these events are the only ones being held this month, you are certainly wrong as the Scenic Rim has so much more on offer. There’ll be farm tours and animal feeding at the Greenlee Macadamia Farm, Scenic Rim Cooking Classes showcasing local produce, the Boonah country markets will be hosting some amazing stalls and there’ll be a traditional Cobb & Co. wagon tour that cannot be missed!
