Brunswick Street Mall: our go-to evening haunt, whether it’s for a beverage or some seriously good food, has a new contender on the block! The Sound Garden officially opened its doors two weeks ago and boasts some epic points of difference, setting it apart from your typical Brisbane nightlife and dining establishment.
The opening of The Sound Garden has been highly anticipated and it is yet another high-quality venue from Mantle Group Hospitality – owners of The Charming Squire, Jimmy’s on the Mall, Pig ‘N’ Whistle and other venues that add to our staple diet of inner-city entertainment and dining.
Venue Manager Davor Djukic—who has had over 12 years of industry experience—has a real vision for the venue: to bring live, local music and atmosphere back to the heart of Fortitude Valley. The music will span a range of genres including blues, jazz, acoustic, soul and even R&B, and will be pumping seven nights a week.
The Sound Garden is characterised by bold, delightfully moody colours such as green marble and dark green, vinyl, and is accentuated by brassy finishes. The interior design was envisioned and created by renowned architectural firm Hogg & Lamb and is seriously dressed to impress.

Passion for music runs through the very veins of this multi-level venue; from the drinks, cocktail and food menus being presented on vinyl records, to the array of music puns that in-house Cocktail Connoisseur Shane Lucas has used to name his creations. We seriously suggest that you try the ‘Bohemian Raspberry’, made of Ketel One vodka, blueberries, lime, raspberry and ginger beer. Or, the manager’s personal favourite, the ‘Smooth Tennessee Whiskey’ might be the one for you. It’s made with Jack Daniels Single Barrel, brandy, strawberry liqueur, honey and lemon!
Now, let’s talk about the array of food offerings. With Middle Eastern roots and an overarching focus on share plates and locally sourced ingredients, you will find an unparalleled, affordable dining experience that will fire up your taste buds in a whole new way. We can even give a big thumbs up to all you brunch lovers that are in need of classic bacon and eggs! But if you’re after something a little different, you can also try their breakfast gnocchi with spinach, bacon, eggs and mushrooms. I mean seriously, the food-gasm is real! And if you have any dietary requirements, fear not! The menu is filled with options that will satisfy.
If lunch and early evening eats are more your style, you’ll definitely want to check out The Sound Garden’s menu, which boasts an extensive selection of delicious food: from wood fired pizza to wood fired halloumi, as well as epic burgers, pitas and a range of share plates. We can’t spell it out more clearly: you’ve got to check out this new slice of Brunswick Street Mall!
Whether you are looking for a breakfast with a Middle Eastern kick, a vino and a shared plate with your nearest and dearest or a killer atmosphere with tunes from local music talent, The Sound Garden is your place.
The Sound Garden is located beside the Fortitude Valley Music Hall in Brunswick Street Mall, Fortitude Valley. It is open from 11am–late from Monday–Friday and 10am–late on weekends.
