Paniyiri Greek Festival is Returning to Brisbane: Here’s What You Need to Know

Paniyiri Greek Festival

The Paniyiri Greek Festival is making a triumphant return to Brisbane this May. This is great news for all fans of Greek culture, as the festival will be bigger and better than ever!

Held in Musgrave Park in West End, the two-day event will feature plenty of entertainment, delicious food and more.

The longest-running Greek festival in the country, and Queensland’s biggest cultural event, Paniyiri will return to its traditional location after a two-year pause due to the pandemic.

This annual celebration shines a spotlight on the Greek culture and community and opens a window onto one of the world’s greatest ancient civilizations.

You can expect to join 50,000 fellow Brisbaners as they indulge in sweet and savoury Greek treats, smash plates and dance the Zorba.

Speaking of treats, Paniyiri is a food-centric event, with 20 stalls selling an incredible variety of authentic Greek cuisine from 11 different regions.

Eat your heart out with multiple plates of BBQ calamari, souvlaki, halloumi and, the Paniyiri classic, honey puffs.

Enjoy a Greek wine tasting while channelling your inner Dionysus, the original God of wine. Treat yourself to Greek-inspired beverages or try the Greek beers.

Embrace your inner Greek and get ready to party as the Grecians do for one weekend in May!
