Emergency Hardship Assistance
The Emergency Hardship Assistance Grant is a way for the government to help out people who have been directly impacted by some sort of disaster, including the floods.
This grant will provide assistance with meeting your immediate essential needs such as food, clothing or medical supplies if you’re unable do so on your own.

Temporary Accommodation
If you have been temporarily displaced and are in need of accommodation numerous temporary shelters have been established across Brisbane.

Essential Household Contents Grant
You may be eligible for financial assistance if you’re uninsured, or unable to claim insurance.
Grants of up $1,765 are available as single adults. Couples/families can receive a grant of up to $5,300 towards replacing essential household contents like beds linen & whitegoods that have been lost.

Electrical Services Safety and Reconnection Grant
You may be eligible for a grant to help you reconnect essential services that were damaged by disaster.
There are two parts to this grant. The first part is an inspection. The grant can cover up to $200 per essential service that needs a safety inspection (gas, electricity etc.).
The second portion is Repairs. Eligible applicants can claim up to $4200 for repair work such as electrical rewiring necessary in order make these vital fixtures operational again.

Small Business Disaster Relief
In light of recent floods the Queensland Government has opened up a natural disaster assistance grant to affected areas.
