Brewsvegas Festival

If the name doesn’t already give it away, there seems to be another reason for us to indulge in a couple of bevvies this month! Celebrating the seventh edition of the Brewsvegas Festival, this is the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together to support some incredible local breweries. The legendary festival is hosting an array of events throughout March, including the Range Brewing Bowlorama, the Soapbox SMaSH Ping Pong Championship, the Hopfields IPA festival and much more. World Science Festival

Immerse yourself in the multi-faceted world of science and discover the wonder of ‘why’ at the World Science Festival later this month. Taking science out of the laboratory and into the streets, museums, parks, performing arts venues and galleries all around Brisbane, this is a festival that cannot be missed. By bringing some of the world’s most renowned scientific minds to our own home town, this is the ideal opportunity to expand your knowledge and educate yourself on the things you never thought were possible. Tickets can be found online and are categorised by each exhibit, so take your pick and get ready for a spectacular five days!

Curiocity

March seems to be filled with back-to-back events packed with innovation and creativity. Thankfully, we now have another reason to get off the couch as Curiocity is returning to Brisbane for three weeks of immersive, multi-sensory activities to keep you entertained and eager for more. This experience is completely free and strives to ignite curiosity across Brisbane at their multiple creative hubs including Queensland Museum, Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Queen Street Mall, and many more. Featuring installations by leading technology developers and artists, this playful festival is definitely one to bring the friends and family along to!

MOULD: A Cheese Festival

Yep, you heard it here first: the words ‘cheese’ and ‘festival’ both in the same sentence! It’s almost too Gouda to be true! Sorry… had to do it. With tickets selling for MOULD: A Cheese Festival by the minute, this is a festival that cheese connoisseurs and dairy lovers alike will thoroughly enjoy. The mouth-watering event will be taking place at our favourite local stomping ground, Brisbane Showgrounds later this month and will boast all things cheese. Now, what’s better than a festival purely celebrating local cheeses? Adding booze to the mix of course! The Mould team recently announced that there will also be a wine bar fully stocked with organic and additive free wines from Campbell Burton. A festival with delicious cheese and wine? We’re there. Tickets for Sunday March 22 are still available and can be purchased online.

‘All in the Mind’ World Science Festival Film Program
As part of this year’s exciting World Science Festival, ‘All in the Mind’ allows you to delve into the world of cinema and escape into some of the most iconic and cerebral films of our time. Featuring films such as American Psycho, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, A Clockwork Orange and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, film buffs will be travelling from far and wide to escape into these psychedelic masterpieces. The film program will place in the iconic Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), so bring your friends along for four days full of cinematic escapism!

Brisbane Cycling Festival
Was anyone else’s New Year’s resolution to get into shape but it’s already the third month and you still find yourself struggling to get off the couch? Well, the Brisbane Cycling Festival is rolling into town this month to give you an excuse to smash those 2020 goals! This festival will be offering amateur, professional and group races at the Anna Meares Velodrome and other local venues. With events such as mountain biking, wheely fun for kids, and our very own Tour de Brisbane, there is an activity for everyone!
