Do as the Romans do, at Eterna

This is your cue to indulge, to explore and to delight in dishes that draw from the history of the Testaccio Market. The wine is flowing, the mood is right and the night is always young.

Eterna is the latest restaurant concept from the crew behind Salt Meats Cheese – a late-night venue celebrating the food of Rome, dished up in a venue inspired by the energy of New York! This vibrant late-night eatery can be found tucked away off Ann Street in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

Eterna will spotlight authentic Roman recipes, in a setting and style that’s evocative of New York’s late-night dining and charming underground bars; we’re talking Classic Gin martinis, Cardinale cocktail (Rome born negroni) flowing wine, and snacks and pasta for all to enjoy until late!

Chef’s Picks; Rigatoni Carbonara & Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe

Eterna is a place where travellers and locals alike are welcomed, where you can share a snack with a friend or lose yourself amongst the menu. Fresh pasta forms the cornerstone of Eterna’s menu, with dishes such as rigatoni alla carbonara, tonnarello cacio e pepe and bucatini all’amatriciana. Guests can also indulge in smaller dishes such as suppli al telefono (think arancini, but street-food style) and mains like rosemary-marinated char-grilled lamb chops, pollo alla Romana and slow-roasted porchetta.

“When we decided on a Roman-style menu we went with, the cornerstone of la cucina Romana,” says general manager, Rome-born Flavio Tripepi. “…cacio e pepe and carbonara will be must-try dishes on the Eterna menu.” While their cultures might be different, Rome and New York share their late-night spirits… literally! The drinks will be flowing at Eterna, with over 130 local and Italian wines as well as a plethora of classic cocktails pouring.
