Brisbane start-up, Claim, launches app to help fight for our embattled hospitality and retail stores

Brisbane small business Claim, is taking on the mighty task of launching a new app to help Australia’s hospitality, hair and beauty, and retail small businesses – get customers back in stores, while helping everyday Australians save on doing the things they love, in post-isolation times.

Claim App founder, Tim Langford, and his small team of Brisbane-based developers have created the first app to help consumers easily find and save on the best deals in their local area – like a pilates class, a dinner out, or inner-city parking – while helping small businesses reach new customers. “As a bargain hunter myself, I wanted to create an affordable way for businesses to share their latest promotions with customers in the area, while giving customers the power to choose and save on whatever they want – like a haircut, lunch or dinner,” Langford explains.

Claim app founder, Tim Langford, aims to help small businesses gain new customers while helping everyday Australians save on doing the things they love!

Langford said Claim’s been a collaborative build with the businesses who’ll directly benefit – asking what they want, rather than what Claim says they want. “Businesses can post their own promotion – or close appointment gaps in their day with special offers in quieter periods,” Langford explains. The app sends alerts to customers who opt-in for free and nab deals they want anywhere within 5km. It’s essentially your business’ blackboard promo on a megaphone.

Claim business user, Patrick White of Pocket Cafe, explains that the app has been an excellent tool to assist with food wastage, “Things only last a few days so anyone on the team can throw things up on the app to advertise those deals to our customers in real-time thanks to Claim’s push notifications. It’s a really new school approach to an old school methodology.”

Claim is completely free for consumers to download and use, and any small business who join Claim App will only pay a low monthly subscription fee to upload unlimited content to the platform.

Now, as Tim and the team launches a new, tried-and-tested version of the app in a post-isolation world, they’re inviting more businesses and investors to become one of the first equity partners – and help support thousands of small businesses and consumers in COVID and beyond. The app is completely free for consumers to download and use, and any small business who join Claim App will only pay a low monthly subscription fee to upload unlimited content to the platform. “If you’re a beauty therapist, just getting one new customer every three months justifies the price,” Langford says.

Langford and the team are also on the hunt for businesses and investors to become one of the first equity partners for a minimum investment of just $250, to scale Claim App even further, and all those who invest will get 6 months free.

The app is currently undergoing beta testing and is expected to launch in a matter of weeks! You can visit their website here for more information. To join Claim as an equity partner for a minimum of $250, visit their crowdfunding platform, Birchal here.
