Let the Celebrations Be-Gin
A Gin and Tonic Festival is heading to Queensland this April. Make sure you get your drinking attire and dress in your Howard Smith Wharves best! The Fever-Tree G&T Festival has partnered with the Wharves and made it mandatory to have a Gin-tastic time!
After the 2021 postponement, the Gin and Tonic Festival has had time to elevate itself, making it well and truly worth the wait. Brisbane is the second stop on the festival’s national tour. The event itself is the first of its kind to hit the Brisbane scene with its four-day celebrations of all things G&T.
The folks at Fever-Tree are behind this event. They’ve just won ‘No.1 Top Selling Mixer’ and ‘No.1 Top Trending Mixer’ for the eighth year running in the Drinks International Awards 2022. It’s safe to say they probably know a thing or two about making a mean gin and tonic.
Running from Thursday, 28th of April to Sunday, 1st of May, the festival will offer G&T lovers the opportunity to indulge in a range of Queensland boutique distillers and will showcase the best of Queensland. This includes Wolf Lane Distillery from Cairns, the Sunshine Coast’s Sunshine & Sons, and Bundaberg’s Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing Company, as well as crowd favorites Four Pillars Gin, Archie Rose Distilling Co. and Never Never Distilling Co.
Strap yourself in and get prepared for a three-hour immersive session with 20 local and international gin distillers throughout the weekend, highlighting the very best in gin that Australia has to offer paired with t tonics from Fever-Tree premium mixers
Check out the “Gin Village”, where you can sample and explore what the world of gin has to offer. The “Tonic Discovery Bar” will be serving up your favourite Fever-Tree tonics. The “Ultimate G&T Bar” gives you the opportunity to discover the range of bespoke G&T pairings in full-sized G&Ts.
You can participate in workshops & Discovery Talks that will allow you to extend your knowledge of gin and tonic with the distillers.
Naturally there will be food-a-plenty, with the Howard Smith Wharves restaurant pop-ups throughout the festival site. These include a delicious oyster & Prawn bar and Mexican offerings from the much-loved La Mexicana.
The Four Pillars Riverside G&T Bar will be mixing the very best G&Ts, paired with a selection of ‘Made from Gin’ charcuterie and cheese. There’ll be DJs to keep the party going, paired with live music and garden games with acoustic sets and live bands on the main lawn.
There will even be a chance to try the new gin-based Orange & Grapefruit Aperitif ‘Sunset Bitter’ from Noosa’s Seabourne Distillery.
Make sure you book ahead on the Website.
